Target audience 

This qualification is ideal if you have management responsibilites but no formal training and are serious about developing your abilities.  It's particularly suited to practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures.

A more in-depth course to help get you in-demand skills you need to excel in your management career.  Ideal if you're a current or aspiring first-line manager.

 

Entry requirements 

You don't need any formal qualifications to enrol on this course, but you should be 18+.  You will benefit most from the course if you are a current or potential first-line manager with at least 2 years' full-time (or 3 years' part-time) work experience.

Course content 


To achieve the Diploma, you will complete the following unit:

8600-308 Understanding Leadership

8600-310 Understanding How to Motivate to Improve Performance

8600-342 Developing own Leadership Capability using Action Learning

600-230 Developing Yourself as an Effective Team Member

8600-300 Solving Problems and Making Decisions

8600-209 Planning Change in the Workplace

8600-404 Delegating Authority in the Workplace

8600-342 Developing own Leadership Capability Using Action Learning

8600-307 Giving Briefings and Making Presentations

8600-408 Management Communication

8600-338 Understanding performance Management

Please note that some units are subject to change due to timetable schedules.

Teaching & Learning 

Start any month, class room based. One day per month for 13 months 

User Support period is 13 months with tutor support.

Assessment criteria 

Each unit is assignment based.

Funding criteria:

 

·         I am employed and/or self-employed and my annual gross salary is less than £33,210 (for Tees Valley resident) or £20,319 (for non-Tees Valley resident

·         are 19 or over and do not already have a level 3 qualification

·         already have a level 3 qualification or higher but are unemployed

Whatever course you choose, you'll get the highest level of training from specialist tutors, benefiting from their knowledge and experience of working not just in education but also in industry.

Application & Enrolment

You are able to apply online for all courses, however to complete your course enrolment fully, you will need to have an interview and then be accepted onto a course. The only courses available to enrol online are Full Cost courses, if you wish to enrol on any other course please call into Student Services or call 01429 295000.
